CHINA-EURASIA EXPO, it is a chance to allow the world take a good look at Xinjiang.

On 1st of September, there is a remarkable event in China which is The First CHINA-EURASIA EXPO was holding in Urumqi, Xinjiang. As a person from Xinjiang, I felt so proud of my hometown, this is the biggest events ever in Xinjiang province, I found an EXPO trailer from YouTube, and I am just so excited about every second of this trailer, because it shows people exactly everything in 3 minutes. It includes economy, climate, culture and people. I would like to share this video with everyone. It is a pity I can’t participate CHINA-EURASIA EXPO, my parents and friends told me, the entire province made a great effort on this big event. Everyone gave up a lot of things to make sure this EXPO going smoothly. But we should look everything in two ways, tomorrow the EXPO will hold the closing ceremony. Is this EXPO really going to influence and give Xinjiang some possibilities to develop more, or is this just a gorgeous play?

First stop—–Trupan, it is a great start of knowing some histories

First stop—–Trupan, it is a great start of knowing some histories. (Article “Xinjiang Travel” from: http://interlinetravelnews.com/?p=13531)

Xinjiang located in middle of China, and Urumqi is its capital city. Once upon a time, Xinjiang also called Xiyu, in Tang and Han dynasty, Xinjiang was the most important part of the Silk Road( or the Silk Route) it was a route over which Han silk fabrics and other products were transported to Southwest Asia and Europe. Trupan is one of the best place in Xinjiang, people always says if you didn’t go to Trupan that means you never go to Xinjiang. Trupan is famous for its fruits, (grapes are the best one of all the fruits) BBQ and wines. Like I have mentioned in my other post the hottest weather is 45 degrees and Trupan is the city that the temperature can be 45 at all summer time, It hardly rains because Trupan is in a basin. It absorbs all heats from the sun and grounds. That’s the reason why their watermelon and grapes are so sweet; I had a great memories in Trupan when I was 10 years old, and we went to a very famous place called “Grape Street”. It was an amazing pathway that was consisting of grapevines and frames. It brought us a cooler aura and some delicious fruit, when you are tried, just take a seat and have some fruits, you will appreciate your delightful journey at Trupan. Trupan is a city where the historical remains were found about the Silk Road in 1950s. It is worth to mention that the Ancient City of Jiaohe is said to be “the most perfect ruins of the earth”, it is the largest and well-preserved earth construction city. I couldn’t remember the structure of the entire building at all, they all made by cob bricks. The reason they still can keep Ancient City of Jiaohe is also because the climate.
Because it’s hardly rain in Trupan, so water is a precious resource to local people, our ancestors had a great inventions called “Kanerjing”,

Introducing Your Topic: A brief introduction about Xinjiang history and culture

Recently, I have tried to read different articles through Internet about Xinjiang, I find hardly any articles which reference Xinjiang specifically, and Western people know little about this far West place. In this vast land, there are 53 different nationalities lives together.
May be you should be there and experience a place which can name after Shangri-La, but you won’t go there unless you know something about Xinjiang.
As we all know China is a big country consisting of many provinces, the country itself is like a beautiful scroll, once you open the scroll, all you have to is rest your mind and travel as far as you can, after all most of scroll’s part is showing people the majority part of China, if you look them enough, eventually, you will fed up with it. When we mention China, people would think of Chinese food, Ancient Empires, Great Tang dynasty and Great four inventions etc. I guess that’s the main impression China leaves to everyone in the world. Try to imagine when Sahara Desert, the Dead Sea, the Wind Farm from Denmark and Snow Mountain in Switzerland combine together, here we comes Xinjiang. It is not exactly as same as they are but Xinjiang has its own style and story.
This is a place where the temperature can be minus 50 degrees in winter and 45 degrees in summer. You might wonder how people could stand such an extreme place like Xinjiang. The answer is simple because that is part of our pride. Even we lived in such a “poor” living condition, we are so optimism that we treat this as god’s gift.
It is worth to mention, Uyghur nationality make a great contribution to this beautiful province, no matter from culture side or actual efforts. Their religion is Islam and they don’t eat pork, to respect their custom, most of Han nationality in Xinjiang doesn’t eat pork either, their offspring are best friends, they are helping each other for any problems. We (Han nationality is the main nationality in China) appreciate their cultures a lot. So if you would like to go to Xinjiang, you really should learn about the culture. Uyghur nationality is a nationality that is good at dancing and singing. Their dancing and singing are always represent the culture of Xinjiang. Because when the dancers start dancing, it held the whole world on a string. You won’t miss out this great opportunity if you are a dance lover.
You might want to have a mind trip with me if you wonder why I called this place as Shangri-La ,in the end, it will become a most wanted place you have ever looking forward to.

Why this topic is important to me?

I was born in China which is a country has a massive population and rich cultural background. Xinjiang is the biggest province in China, which is the place where I was born. There are 53 minorities who live in this province. Xinjiang has very rich natural resources which including gas, coal, wind, petroleum.

I asked so many Chinese people, where is the most mysterious place in China, their answers are about the same, Tibet and Xinjiang. Xinjiang has lots of places that interest people from all over the world. There are so many beautiful places such as Kanas Lake, Trupan Basin, Tian Chi (very famous twin lakes in Xinjiang) and Lop Nor (nuclear testing site in Xinjiang). People enjoy staying at a good place, and it will become part of memories in your life, it is such a pity, if you miss out those nice places just because you are not familiar with. Since I am a Xinjiangnese and I love my hometown, so it is my responsibility to share such a nice place to everyone among the world.

The blog is going to present Xinjiang through natural landscape, people, religion, history, architecture, and specialties (including fruits, foods, and trading goods etc.) and I will combine those elements with my living life in Xinjiang( mainly via photos). It will be more realistic rather than introduce it without any witnesses. I am so happy that I can have a platform to show everyone how my hometown looks like. It will be a great tour and by the end of semester, you will fall in love with Xinjiang.
